With the 2016 Olympics fast approaching, Netsky has unveiled a brand new remix of his track ‘Rio’, featuring none other than Macklemore!

The ‘Rio’ remix was given its world premiere on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show and was selected for BBC Radio 1’s New Music Friday. Both Netsky and Macklemore spoke to DJ Nick Grimshaw to share their excitement for the track. Macklemore said: “I am so pumped to be on Netsky’s ‘Rio Remix’. I loved collaborating with Boris. Now we’re ready for the summer. Let’s go!”

The original track was inspired by a trip Netsky took to Brazil. It became the first single from his third studio album 3, and appeared on the soundtrack for BBC 1’s coverage of London’s 2015 New Year’s Eve fireworks display.

Netsky is the official musical ambassador for the Belgian Olympics Team and he will join them in Rio De Janeiro during this year’s competition. There is no doubt that this ‘Rio’ remix will become the official unofficial Olympic anthem!

This tops off a huge summer for Netsky who has performances lined up at some of the world’s biggest festivals. Having performed at Glastonbury already this year, he can look forward to Reading and Leeds, as well as Panorama Festival in New York and DJ sets around the world.
