Donald Thomas Bexley (March 10, 1910 – April 15, 1997) was an American actor and comedian who was best remembered for his role as Bubba Bexley, Fred Sanford’s (Redd Foxx) buddy on the 1970s television comedy Sanford and Son. He was a standup comedian on the Chitlin’ Circuit, both as a solo act and as a member of comedy teams, when he met Redd Foxx. Bexley and his companion Dave Turner produced party CDs and traveled extensively across the United States. His appearances on Sanford and Son gave him the most attention. In the Sanford and Son spin-off series The Sanford Arms, he played the same role. Laverne & Shirley, Cheers, T.J. Hooker, Hunter, and The Royal Family are among his other television credits. In the film Sparkle, he played the role of MC and comic. In the 1990s, he left performing and returned to his home state of Virginia.
